Stay grounded, with every move you make today. Go barefoot. I dare you!
It’s easy to get caught up in this super fast paced world these days and we definitely may forget to stop, pause, take a breath and realign ourselves. I try my best to ground myself every morning whilst sipping on my hot cup of tea. Perhaps while you’re waiting to pick up your kids from school, waiting in line at the grocery store or simply caught in traffic, stopped, that is a great moment to realize that you are alive, breathing and healthy. Our brains go on auto pilot but we sometimes forget to turn off the auto pilot button. Running on just fumes, our bodies begin to shut down, causing burn out. If you need a day of rest, to do absolutely nothing, I say you go for it, and never feel guilty for doing so.
Humans were not made to be going at this fast paced rate. We were meant for creativity, calmness, forest and nature walks. Forest; For-rest. How is your breathing right now? Take a deep breath in, fill those lungs, filling your tummy with air, and then release slowly, releasing all tension, negativity and stress. We cannot breath and think at the same time, so take that breath and relax your mind, for just a moment. Get your sunshine, get your fresh air and get your rest.
They say sunshine is bad for you, don’t look into the sun, I mean, obviously when it’s at it’s fullest peak and highest UV rating, but we can sun gaze within that 1 hour gap between sunrise and sunset. Our sun is nothing but a big beautiful ball of medicine. I have a co-worker that has a son who had ringworm the other day and all he did was let him play outside in the sun for a bit and no word of a lie, the rashes went drastically down. Sunshine is medicine, I don’t care what any doctor or false media says. With moderation, like anything else, sunshine is a cure. When I sun gaze in the evening, I can see waves of energy emitting from the sun, it’s crazy. I’m looking right at the sun, and yes, I still have my eye sight! Don’t look straight into the sun when it’s at it’s full peak, I haven’t tried it but it may do some damage. Who knows?
The Earth is energy, the ground is electrifying. We all wear shoes and that is our first point of disconnectedness from the Earth and beautiful energy it can provide for us. When you stand barefoot on grass you are seriously charging yourself, like a Tesla who needs to be plugged in to continue it’s journey. I walk barefoot around my town, and my gosh, how freeing does it ever feel! Recharge yourself, for free! Your body will thank you.
All I want to say today is, if you are reading this, don’t forget to pause, breath and realign yourself. Like I said, it’s so easy to get caught off guard into that auto pilot mode. Don’t let your life pass you by. We have so much to live for. We have so much to learn, do, see, create, hear, taste, touch, listen to and feel. Take a breath. Slow down a little or a lot. If something is consuming your life, take a step back and re-analyze things. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life doing that?
Don’t be afraid or guilty of slowing down or doing nothing for a day. We need rest, grounding, resetting and rebooting. We are not machines, we are humans.
Take that day off. Do nothing. Rest. Live. Breathe. Walk barefoot. Xx
