I don’t care what kind of cracked up silly whacky stuff you’re into, show the world who you are.
We feel the need to hide our true authentic selves, when really, that’s all the Universe wants. The more you hide yourself, the more unauthentic you are, and trust me, good things come when you are your truest self.
Everyday at work, I am asked “what the heck was that?” after I did some random yodel along with a silly shuffle dance. I am no longer afraid to be myself and be quirky and weird. It’s who I am, it’s who makes me, ME. People don’t know what to expect when they are around me and I love it! To me that keeps shit interesting and life, playful. There’s a lady I work with and apparently, it’s a “generational thing” and I replied that “it has nothing to do with generations! This is who I am. I am me.” Mic drop. I got so irritated when she said that, but I had to tell myself, my ego, to remain calm, feel the emotions, and move on. That’s HER opinion HER issue, not mine!
You could be 98 or you could be 6 or 23 or 47 or 68. Whatever your number, you are who you are and being your true self is what matters. What society or people think of you, has nothing to do with you. If you’re afraid to be yourself, even around the friends you’ve been hanging out with since kindergarten, then, you are not being your most authentic self. I personally think that if you cannot be yourself around anyone you are currently with or hanging out with, you need to reevaluate your circle. I promise you; some people are worth letting go of. You will only help yourself. You deserve to have the feeling of security within yourself, your soul. If you aren’t, well, my dear, please do anything you can to be around the people who accept you for who you are. Otherwise, I don’t see a fulfilling life. We are not meant to be hidden in the shadows. We are meant to be shining bright and showing the world the craziest, silliest, weirdest attributes, we have!
Do not be a turtle and hide away. Break out of your shell and do that electric slide on the dancefloor at Jimmy’s wedding whilst ending it all doing the splits and ripping your pants! Jimmy has extra pants so don’t worry about it! Live your life, love it!
The more inauthentic we are, the more lack we experience in our lives. The more inauthentic your friendships and relationships are. We are meant to have fulfilled, blossoming connections with our loved ones, our friends and our co-workers. Heck, if I couldn’t be myself at work, I wouldn’t work there! Period! My work environment feels like a “hang out” zone when we’re together. I want you to have the same. If you don’t feel fulfilled where you are, change it. Change is scary, yes, but once you make the move, you’re going to smile from ear to ear and I can already feel the smirk and eagerness from you, as you read this.
Get determined to be YOU! I want to see the hidden gems. Ya’ll are gems in God’s eye, apart of the Universe, my eye! Don’t be shy, nervous, or ashamed.
Start to live your life authentically. I promise it only gets better from here.
