What’s holding you back?
Think about it. What is holding you back from obtaining and achieving your greatest goals? I feel like I am currently channeling a message from my Guides secretly asking myself the same question! What is holding ME back from my greatest desires and goals?! Wow… hmm, good question.
Now I don’t know about you, but most of us were asked what we wanted to be when we grew up when we were little peewee herman’s. My dream job was to become a Registered Nurse. My whole childhood up until I went to college to fulfill that lifelong dream was to be a loving, caring Nurse. Did I fulfill that dream? Hell no! However, I did spend 6 months in college enrolled in the program! It was up until the placement of the program, where you go into the field of your choice and spend “a day in the life of a..” getting real time action and experience in the field. That was ultimately the final decision where I said, “Oh hell no, this is not for me!”. How bizarre. All this time I wanted to be a Nurse and when it finally came down to it, I didn’t want to do it. Many years later I was found hanging on the back of a garbage truck collecting the citizens of Toronto’s garbage! HA! Too funny when I think about it now. Who would have thought that being a Garbage woman would be one of the BEST jobs I have ever had!
We’re told to become this, become that, by our parents, perhaps out of their own desires. Now let me tell you, if you truly feel passionate about what your parents or friends or family are telling you what to become professionally, then go for it. Otherwise, do what YOU want to do. Not what your family or friends want. Think about yourself and what you most desire to do as a profession. Because seriously, you’re going to spend most of your life doing this, so make it count. Trust me, that is not selfish. Think about it, SELF-ish, SELF-love, SELF-care, it all has to do with SELF. YOU. No one else. I know we have family, friends, classmates, co-workers etc., but we must ultimately lookout for ourselves. Otherwise, you will spend or “waste away” precious days of your life doing something you have no care for!
As I talk about this, I reflect on my own dreams and goals. I am working for a corporation. I must say, I cannot see myself doing this until I am 65 years young. Like seriously? There is so much more to life than working 5 days a week like a dog for 31 more years!? Jesus. That actually sounds like a prison sentence to me. So, I am trying my damned best to make my dreams come true. I won’t say what they are because, well, that would spoil everything!
I do hope you have dreams and aspirations my friend! If you have one in mind, I say go for it. Throw all your cards and say, “ALL IN”. There is literally nothing holding us back from achieving the greatest enjoyments of our precious life. Don’t let anyone or any circumstance tell you otherwise or steer you wrong.
We ALL have free will, we always will.
Take that power and use it to your advantage.
God Bless. xx
